fortune cookie of the week: "It is very possible that you will achieve greatness in your lifetime."

It turned out that the flu I thought I had was actually a very bad case of strep throat. I've been laid up since December 26, completely missed New Year's Eve and Day, and after such a long stretch, the only non-home-made food I had a chance to get was local Chineese.

Subsequently, the above mentioned fortune landed my way.

I'm extraordinarily skeptical of this one, given I had an horrific interview today. It was the third interview for a position as a secretary to some very junior partners at a law firm. I enjoyed the interview with the young go-getters I'd be working with, but this gentleman I had the unpleasant pleasure of company today was a rather strange character. Many of the questions he asked revolved around personal decisions I made over the past several years, and I believe the questions had nothing to do with whether or not i could perform the duties of the position. I am not one to answer certain personal questions right away, and was rather puzzled by this line of questioning anyway. The interview was a bit off-putting to say the least, and I think my reticence to discuss my personal life and some of my life choices put this guy off a bit.

So be it.

Strangely, in the last tarot reading I had, the reader told me I would encounter a man in power who would not like me and would make things difficult for me. Guess I met him today.

I still have to meet the one who's going to change my life completely, and I can't wait to find out why or how I'm going to end up taking a trip (possibly to Europe) sometime in May.

Which leads to this fortune. Perhaps, once again, Fortune Cookie Central knows something more than do. Perhaps there's a certain level of greatness that I'll achieve, but I won't be able to achieve it working a full-time job with benefits, even though more money and medical coverage would certainly alleviate some of my daily living anxieties!

So I'm trying to concentrate more on the very possible and not on the possibly-fucked-it-ups.
