fortune cookie of the week: "Financial hardship in your life is coming to an end. Enjoy!"

Well, those little guys at Fortune Cookie Central cracked me up once again! They *must* know something I don't, because working a $10 an hour part-time job certainly isn't the way to end one's financial hardship.

Fortune, fate, destiny.....can they be changed? are they written in stone? or in our DNA? Is it nature or nuture; or is it because we are one of the Chosen Ones with our names inscribed in some Heavenly Golden Book? There are those who believe if one is a "good person" that fate and fortune will shine on one and make life perfect. Others believe in the power of hard work to change one's path from despair to fortune and that the changes have nothing to do with the self-assessment of one's own suspected good nature or will.

I believe in the power of the Fortune Cookie. It's as accurate as any other belief system.
