Shalom Tish,
Simplify, simplify, simplify.
There is always an alternative to more space: less stuff.
Regift the stereo or put it up on eBay. Being in a negative acquisition mode can be liberating.
B'shalom,
Jeff
Jeff...
well, when engineering types give a girl electronics, it's kind of like they went out and slayed the mastadon. And a girl can't just turn around and sell the mastadon on eBay. So, it's a matter of dealing with the mastadon in the living room.
I'm hoping for a bigger apartment by the summer.

Ed...
did you get Alphaville on vinyl for Christmas?!? my goodness! where'd she find it?!?
I played "Big In Japan" just recently on my old tinkertoy stereo. I'm sorry I ditched my jensen speakers so long ago. eventually I'll have to get a grown-up turntable. It's amazing how my vinyl's held up over the years.
Tish,
That's an Event to see have you, visiting my place...I'm happy you did find the time to do so (too many out side of MSN, complains, on how hard it is, for them to post a word..) so you did!
and I'm grateful, for the encouragements! it has been the 4th day now, and i'm very proud, yet, a bit edgy and easy to cry... it will be OK, i know it is all up to me.
Moon--no problem finding you! and I wasn't bothered by registering in order to leave you a comment. That's sometimes just part of hopping around the internet. I'm glad that you're taking quitting cigarettes seriously. Keep going!
Ed-- d'oh! I didn't even notice the records in the pic! shows how much I pay attention. Occasionally I go thru little bouts of wistfulness and whip out the old vinyl. You know how much of it I have, and what it consists of, so you know how much aural pleasure it can bring us old folks. And, since I don't have MTV, I have very little idea what's going on in "new music"--forget about college radio around here and we have 3 stations: country, western, and classic rock. I sometimes listen to one of Jeff's favorites, WOXY on the 'net, but so much of it sounds like old stuff that I just play the old stuff and don't bother spending my money. I think I own two Strokes cds just because they remind me of old stuff--but the Hives, well, they kind of give me a headache and all that emo stuff makes me want to smack one of them across the face and say "snap out of it!" The best emo band was Joy Division anyway.(wow, I *am* getting old)
As for cd's, I listen mostly to instrumentals--lounge or deep house or "chill." It keeps the brain cells occupied while I do other things like read.
